I want to get into anime so I checked out /a/ and almost threw up. Can I watch anime without becoming like those "people?'

Also can you watch anime on Netflix or does that make you a normie? Do real anime fans only watch pirated anime?

How you watch doesn't matter as long as you're not watching dubs which are universally shit. Not that subs aren't shit too but at least you get the real audio.

Daiz ruined /a/ when he started bitching about 10bit. The argument that it would be better quality with less file size at the cost of more CPU. Meanwhile, all fansub groups like coalgirls used the few MBs "saved" to severely bloat their videos with insanely high bitrate and using FLAC.

This isn't the fucking 90s where you have to get on Usenet and order a fansub by mail. You can watch infinite free anime right now without asking 50 years olds on /a/ for their autistic suggestions. You'll figure out what you like and what you don't like really fast. That's how existing works.
