why haven't we given every obese person ozempic yet

it's been a couple years since we have "cured" people eating like lardasses but I still see them everywhere

Some people definitely have side effects, like feeling ill, puking, bone mass loss, etc.
But I agree, we should give it to all fat people, but we won't cause there's money to be made.

Too hard to manifacture for that many people. You know these people would have to take it for life as well, as they will just balloon again when they inevitably go back to their fatass ways.
>300 million Americans would have to take it

Drugs that are prescribed specifically for weight loss, that is, they're used for diagnostic codes like E66.01 are very expensive ($1000/mo. for Zepbound for example) and nearly every employer-sourced health insurance will not have it on their formulary.
You would need a type 2 diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis to get the exact same drug (but under a different brand name, like Mounjaro, in the context of Zepbound), and believe it or not, but not every super fat fatty has type 2 diabetes.

Because it's literal shit and expensive af. Every single person I know that's been on it has had major side effects with one of them having gastroparesis that lasted a month. They had to be on TPN for several weeks due to it.

Is it really that hard to put down the fork? I lost 15 pounds in the past two months to get rid of my winter bulk that I do for lifting. All I did is eat one less meal. Just one. That's it. It's slow, but holy shit it's just that fucking easy.

It's natural hormones that make you feel full longer?

Yes. If you don't change your diet and lifestyle, the weight it going to come right back. It's used as a crutch to help the person develop those. Fatties just want the easy way out.

Skelly here, I went on this kind of intake for like 5 months as an experiment and apart from my cheeks filling out a bit I was in no way fat. Based on my experience and people's reactions to the amounts of food I'd eat compared to how thin I was, I'd say it's mostly genetics.

I honestly think that obesity will vanish in my lifetime. Maybe it's wishful thinking because I want to stop being a fat fuck, but I don't see how we can literally have drugs that make people not eat and still have obesity in, say, 50 years time.

No, you didn't count your calories correctly just like fat fucks. Almost everyone realizes this when they start use an app like MyFitnessPal that takes what you eat and is able to show you your macros and micros. Skinny fucks who even "eat a lot" never eat enough calories, and fat fucks who "eat less" are always eating a shit ton of calories.

You are not exempt from the laws of thermodynamics.

ozemic is a drug with the side effect of decreased appetite. let that sink in.

health is a holistic thing. if you want people in your society to not be fat. you can't putting 17 restaurants on one block. you can't be having nothing but bad, cheap choices all around them. in japan you are legally required to be under a certain weight because they are not putting up with your diabetes and heart failure. the cure for fat people is a society that isn't run by blood sucking satanic pedophiles.

1. It's a bit expensive and big pharma likes big bucks
2. It's actually a treatment for diabetes, it might not help you if you're just regular fat
3. it's still new and so the users are testers for the side effects
4. lmao imagine an effective healthcare for poor people

Imo it often is a combination of incorrectly guessing calories AND metabolism. People vastly underestimate how much they move. Some people dont walk more than 30 minutes a day including work and then go on "dieting" on a bmr that doesnt exist but is much lower than customary.

It can be if you're poor and don't have insurance, this drug is really only for middle class and rich fats, the poors can barely afford rent let alone a magic drug.

Only about 20% regain the weight, eating is more than just diet and lifestyle as you've put it, there is an emotional coping mechanism at play for a lot of people, something losing the weight isn't going to fix, they'd need to go to therapy to either fix their problems or find better coping mechanisms.
As far as percentages go, having only a 20% of reverting back isn't bad, I'd take that chance of being in the 80% who keep it off.
