embracing things that are taboo is a slippery slope, or i guess a gateway action.
once you violate one taboo and don't suffer any consequence you feel emboldened to try and violate an other.
since porn was taboo and still kind of is, women who engage in it and find a community in that world develop a mindset that maybe drugs aren't as dangerous as people say.

but i could be wrong.

Other way around. They get into drug use first, and start trading sex for drugs. They then keep it up and transition to doing it professionally. Pornstars are jsut a subset of drug using sex workers.
