Life was good in the 2000s and I was young and happy. I'm no longer young and happy and Life isn't good.

People often say this is just because of age but I genuinely do not think that is true - the world has changed massively over 20 years. The main two ways being the availability of travel and the internet; both bringing globalisation.
The first issue can be skipped over as it has largely more abstract effects. However, the internet has totally revolutionized life. As someone who largely sits outside of the normie internet, it has devastated me. Social mechanisms have completely migrated online but they cost attached is a loss of privacy which I am unwilling to pay. There are endless portals to endless pages often with no way to verify which even exist in the real world.
It's ironic to say as a chronic 4chan user with no irl friends but I hate the internet. I liked it when it wasn't a necessity but you can't even keep in contact without Instagram anymore.
