Why do some women (who are objectively above average looking) absolutely hate it when the find out someone likes them?

This has merit to it, I had a friend that i thought was doing all these nice things and keeping me in their thoughts when traveling etc because they saw me as their friend then they get mad one day when I mention how I like someone even though I always told them i was only into them as a friend...it's a huge betrayal to open up to someone and then find out they had ulterior motives all along...like disgusted and betrayed feeling.
