Also forgot to add one more thing about learning and its utility. Not all learning is useful, and I assume her post implied universities having value. Not all higher education is valuable. I know as I've spent 5 fucking years in there and I use nothing I learned there. But our schools still require this stupid paper if you want to work as a teacher. Since I do not use anything related to teaching I've been taught in university in my actual teaching, and on top of that my students after my lessons outperform students who have the same lessons with other teachers, it shows that this requirement is just bureaucratic bloat or leftover from times when higher education wasn't filled with bullshit courses and actually made difference. Those 5 years were simply waste of time. That's why yes, universities are worth it only if you learn something utilitarian like medicine, engineering etc. My studies were paid from taxes, but I can't imagine what goes through minds of americans who think that going for arts or humanities in their universities and starting life with massive debt is reasonable idea. Schools task you with exercises and force to repeat stuff to learn and memorize it using the same brain system that makes you remember armor values in games. But learning armor values isn't useful. It's mostly general ability games like puzzles/tetris that have any utilitarian value.
