>DOOM(2016)Doom '16 came out of nowhere and ripped the spine out of quite a lot of unknowing gamers. While Eternal goes a bit into the goofy glory kills, and Dark Ages tones it down, you can't go wrong with the Berserk power-up and a room full of terrified Imps.
>Mortal Kombat franchiseThe original games, even on emulation and savestates, are bullshit hard. That being said, I did enjoy MK9 and Mortal Kombat X is at least passable in terms of gore. This new MK is just Ed Boon trying to make his game the Fortnite of fighting games, and failing miserably because Netherrealm can't balance or animate for shit.
>Hotline Miami franchiseHotline Miami is a pixelated, gory, and overall frustrating series with a fractured story line and a fixation on hurting people. Well worth the price of admission. 2 is a pane in the ass but it introduced me to Carpenter Brut, which was the best takeaway I got from it.
>honorable mention: ANGER FOOTFirst-person Hotline Miami. It's not as gory, but there are few games that scratch the auditory itch that ANGER FOOT does. The music and chaos gets my blood pumping harder than BFG Division or Gladiator ever did. It's not as ultra-violent, but it's worth a look if you love the rush of similar games. Crossfire best track.
