A lot of it is applicable to today's cultural climate, since he also lived in an age of demoralization and complacency and our collective need for an overarching narrative that replaces religious values is something he longed to treat with the concepts he proposed in isolation, as mirrored in the book.
It's quite sad when you see it as an extension of himself, but he also included many things that made me chuckle, partly because of his ancient diction.
I'd also recommend the zaregoto series and perfume by Patrick suesskind!
>makes me wanna go on a nightwalkSame, I exclusively watched s1 at night and I'll do the same this season.
I can't get enough of how beautiful the sky in it looks, I think it even made me tear up because of how free it made me feel last season.
