It used to be kind of cool back in the late 00s when everyone was still poor, now it's just another cookie-cutter EU failstate.
Except most of them at least have some tourist attractions. There's nothing to visit in Romania that you're not better off going a couple countries over for.
It's not even cheap anymore. You used to pay next to nothing and get next to nothing in return. Now you still get next to nothing, but you have to pay 50% to 100% of EU prices for it.
People seem to like it though, every time I visit there's lots of foreign tourists around, so it's possible I'm just wrong.
