>>81739555 (OP)Now I might just be throwing curveballs here, but I might have a few ideas to this.
The cause is a shitton of things, in reality. But the main things are these;
A. Transitioning from a capitalist economy into a rent economy; prices stay permanently high, nobody really owns anything, no sense of ownership over anything in your life makes you feel powerless in your own home and skin.
B. We still haven't recovered from the 2008 recession. Interest rates are still wacky, and the price of goods and services keeps inflating far beyond the amount of wages given to the bottom ~70% earners.
C. A work-based culture means that you're practically encouraged to make slaving away for the rest of your life INTO your life, and nobody wants to do that shit.
D. The sexual revolution of the 60s and 70s led to people in the 80s and 90s replicating actions without understanding the reasons behind them, making shitty life decisions which gave birth to 90s and 2000s kids to bad, inexperienced, unwilling, or irresponsible parents in DROVES.
And that's just to name a few. I could probably go on for hours about various points and perspectives to it all; but basically, people trying to replicate cultures without understanding them, combined with manipulative economic decisions by the ones in power, lead to today's culture, both in work and socialization, pretty much lacking, and especially for men.
