i've wanted to be a serial killer since i was a teenager, i know i'd never do it and im too incompetent but for some reason i find the idea really attractive, i was specially obsessed with it when i was a teen and would constantly watch true crime documentaries, i remember thinking i'd become one of those famous killers, how i'd be famous around the world, how girls would finally pay attention to me and how cool i'd look once they'd make edits about me and to be honest i was a pretty good looking cute teen boy back then so it would probably have worked.

especially nowadays post luigi and since all women are obsessed with true crime if you became some sort of irl Dexter you could even become a hero. So basically you wanted to be a character you saw in a TV series? Yeah, that's probably not that uncommon OP.

I'd never heard of Dexter Morgan before and I had to look it up to find out he's the main character from a TV show based on a series of novels. It's weird how pop culture is increasingly romanticising serial killers with shows like this and Hannibal, portraying the killers as handsome geniuses. Of course the audience is going to identify with these characters and young people are going to think "That would be so cool to be a serial killer and hunt down bad guys!" In real life serial killers are mostly warped creeps, most of them get their start torturing and killing small animals when they're children. For every Jeffrey Dahmer there's a lot more like Ed Gein or Robert Pickton.

Good to know you're smart enough not to want to do this in real life, OP. Nowadays it would be impossible anyway, surveillance cameras are everywhere and everyone is carrying a video recording device in their pocket.
