For one, your picture choice in this thread doesn't exactly scream mentally stable and self respecting.
It's probably better not to project an image of being an "easy" towards the outside, so moids don't solely pursue you because of their blood flowing away from their brain.
Maybe you could also take some more time to get to know them before you start flirting, so you know they're stable and you actually like them instead of it possibly just being the thrill of getting to know someone new.
Also, if everyone around you is psychotic, you might want to change how you get to know them in the first place (I can only speculate, but consider adding people because you like something about their personality and not because you like their attention).
