Populations of men that didn't care about, pedestalize, or otherwise simp over women did not have as much reproductive success as those that did. Populations of women that did not play into this also did not have as much reproductive success. It starts with men though: as it turns out, men who are so dark triad that they wholly disregard women do not have children, or if they do, the children are less successful leading to eventual gene extinction or no children are begot at all.

What do you mean examples? It's self-evident, but even if it wasn't, every civilization that arose cared about women even if it was just to the extent that successful reproduction occurred. The alternative is oxymoronic. It's an oxymoron to have societies that care 100% about men only when the only way for men to spread their genes is to inseminate and protect a babymaker/caretaker (a female).

The reality of the situation is that women select for psychopathy specifically because it results in greater reproductive success in specific scenarios. Namely that while it might not be good for a peaceful high trust society it is absolutely advantageous in a chaotic low trust society that rewards selfishness and aggression.
