No, we've known about the greenhouse effect for centuries. We have been measuring carbon dioxide levels and global temperatures for a long time. It's us. If we were following the natural cycle we'd be in a cooling period. Albeit we are a species on this planet so our actions and resulting consequences could be generalized as "nature" (and any future sentient species on this planet would treat it as such).
