Should I get a job? It feels like everyone else my age has a job should I get a job?
>>81757056 (OP)>>81757056 (OP)Depends. Are your parents pressuring you to get one? Do you lack money? Is your inheritance big enough to last you as many years as you plan to live?
>>81757113> Is your inheritance big enough to last you as many years as you plan to live? This last one is a problem if you ask me. It's the reason I finally got a job some years ago and started saving/investing, because I hate having a job so I wanna quit as early as I can. I'd say take it easy for now but once you're in your mid 20s, you should at least get a degree or some sort of certificate and then aim to get a job around 27-29. Most employers will probably find it odd you're starting that late, but in my case it wasn't much of a problem. I graduated with an electrical engineering degree and got a comfy office job I don't do much at most of the days. It's as comfy as I could've hoped really but maybe you have better ideas of what would work for you.
Having no money is better than working paycheck to paycheck
>>81757141Yeah. Im nineteen and Im not sure if I should get a job over the summer before I go to college or just relax. The only thing is I have nothing to do so I just feel like Im wasting my time.
>>81757180I'd just relax.
>so I just feel like Im wasting my time.So don't waste it. Play vidya, get drunk (that's what I did in my Euro country at that age), do stupid shit. You're young. Even I still consider myself young. Go and have fun because this is the only life we all get. And don't fall for the billionaire propaganda trying to make you feel like you're wasting time for not doing anything productive.
>>81757180You need money to generate more money. Currently my money generates me 650 dollars a month guaranteed. My investments are separate can withdraw around 15k a year for 10 year and I get 40k a year for three years due to inheritances. So work then quit when everyone else is working
>>81757056 (OP)I'm almost a second years and I really don't want to get a job
>>81757208Yeah III probably just do that
It's good to work, if nothing else for the experience if you do not need the money. Meeting and interacting with people different than you, having a reason to leave the house, socialising, making friends, learning skills, et cetera. These are all important needs for you biologically, and you do not need to work 10h a day, just a little will you get you somewhere.
Of course if you do not want to work and have enough money to never do so, that's fine, just be careful to not be stuck too much inside the house.
