We can all get there. I've been practising a semi-difficult piano piece for 5 months, and I managed to play the first 5 pages to a barely presentable standard, as in it's still kind of shit but there's some hint of musicality and some good bits. Music is hard, and lots of musical work take years to get finished up.

this. i make electronic music, and the stuff I made at first was super short and not fleshed out at all, cause I did not know how to use FL studio too well. It's only been a few months, and I'm already so much prouder of the more recent stuff I've made. It just takes dedication and perseverance, and a genuine love for music. I haven't played for others irl in a long time, I'm too isolated to play for others and enjoy that, but I don't mean that negatively, I kinda mostly practice hard pieces or etudes to improve my technique or analyze pieces I play for improv/compositional knowledge purposes these days. I do make recordings to send to non irl people sometimes but that's kinda sporadic.

Get a MIDI piano keyboard, and Fruity Loops studio. Figuring out channel racks and how to actually input the music takes a while but soon enough you can make shitty jingles like this
