I'll go straight to the point. This theory came up to me when I was sleeping, subconsciously. It's called the 2nd chance theory.

1) When you die, all your sense of time is lost, so time will pass so fast from your perspective, that you'll be alive again in a blink of an eye (just like you are alive now even though billions of years have passed since the beginning of time).

2) You'll have the same opportunities that you have in this life. So think about every event that happened and every decision that you made - you'll have the chance to live it again and choose a different path.

3) This will happen to every person. You won't keep memories from this life, but you'll have intuitions and deja vu you can trust.

so i will be stuck making the same mistakes over and over again, huh...

The good news is that you have the chance to make it different.
Each opportunity that you regret making or not making in this life will repeat itself. So you don't need to worry about it in this life. Just keep living, and don't worry about the "what if"s

Yes, it's similar to reincarnation. Consciousness cannot be destroyed, even after your body dies.
