i'm not in it for the fame and forture. i just want to nurture a small friend group i can talk to and hang out with on a regular basis. i'd only stream retro games since that's pretty much all i play anyway.

you need to be an active part of some community first and then start streaming so you'll at least have a few people hopping in now and then

that's the tough part for me since i'm not part of any communities at all. the reason i wanna do this is in order to form a community for myself. if i was a part of one, i wouldn't need to stream in the first place

your best bet is to start posting youtube videos about things that aren't out yet and establish yourself as a creator for that thing before other people start swarming it, then you'll have a small community to start with.
if all you play is retro games then it's over, maybe you can be a speedrunner but that doesn't seem fun to me

i legitimately don't care about anything new coming out. they could stop making stuff forever tomorrow and it wouldn't affect me at all because there's so many cool things out there already

i don't have the speedrunning autism. i like to take it easy and relax when i play vidya. speedrunning seems stressful
