Not full-blown but my parents had narcissistic tendencies.
Part of the reason I have a stand-offish personality is because I still believe people aren't going to respect my concerns if I ever voice them.

dad was abused and is a total narc. takes shit out on others violently, neglectful as hell, hateful towards those close to him, and always believes he's justified in everything he does. He's sickening

Since narcissism is a mental disorder would you consider it morally wrong to square the blame purely on the individual for their behavior since it's partially out of their control
I feel like I have this same dilemma with psychopaths, doesnt seem right we set a double standard for certain mental health diseases just because of the extent their symptoms harm society, they have the same qualifier of lacking agency in how they were shaped

My sympathy ends entirely when they do nothing about it and refuse to be told they have a problem. Even then, it's not my fucking problem an individual can't help himself but be cruel due to some "trauma".

Being Ill is not an excuse to be shitty. I've never been as cruel as he was, despite largely going through the same things he did.

I guess it's kind of difficult to defend narcissists because it's hard to tell where their choices begin and end with their disorder, if only there was a clear line of them doing absolutely retarded shit nobody in their right mind would do like with autists or ADHD

>phrases used by narcisstic parents
person who made this pic used all of these phrases, not going to listen to a narccist
seriously, why are people assinging anything to loosely defined words, like narccistic (doubt person who made this pic used it like psychiatrists do)

My parents are heavily flawed people but they tried their best at least, even if it meant being loud and emotionally abusive. They still kept a roof over my head and food in the fridge. I don't hate them as much as I used to, but I wish they can find peace.
