Normalfag checking in. I just want to send a message to the NEETs and hikkis on /r9k/.
It's amazing to me how some people just don't care about maintaining friendships. Friendships are so important to me because I didn't have a great life at home growing up, and my friends were like my family.
I don't understand how someone can be your friend for years, and then they get married, and start refusing to hangout or do anything. They just start going to church and hole up in their fucking suburban home.
I'm not the irresponsible friend who refuses to grow up and is a 'bad influence' either. I'm married. My wife and I are very happy.
Why do people turn 30 and start acting like it's impossible to come over and watch the game on Sunday? Why do people start acting like it's irresponsible to not have a packed calendar? I hit my buddy up to hang and he says he needs at least a weeks notice to have a chill session for an hour or two. I used to consider him like a brother, but now he treats me like a co-worker.
I know there are a lot of robots in here who want to be a 'normie', but people are cold hearted no matter what. The culture in America is sick. People only value money and following a template for their life. They forget that we only strive for success so we can enjoy it with the people we care about.
But people get so focused on the rat race that they forget about their so called 'brothers'.
If you have a friend who has been there with you for 8+ years, then you should stick with them and value them. Because solid friends are hard to find.
So whether you're NEET, hikki, normie, or striving to improve your situation: Don't forget that love and friendship is all we really have in this world. Nothing else matters.
