Depends on how your parents are. I live with my mom and it's great. I have my own room, she cooks almost every day and she doesn't bother me with anything. I just help her with whatever she needs sometimes and I don't mind it.
I save over 70% of each paycheck because I don't pay rent and don't have a mortgage. When she dies, the place becomes mine and I also inherit her savings.

I think things might get better for you once you get a job. Before I had a job, I was also expected to do more chores but now I'm mostly just left alone. I just wash dishes when I use them and that's about it. And living in an apartment means there's a lot less crap to do around the house. No mowing the lawn or shoveling snow and if something breaks, the people from the condo administration take care of it.
