recently got a PTSD diagnosis and a (re)-diagnosis of severe major depression.

I've been mentally ill my whole life and had general anxiety disorder (probably a PTSD misdiagnosis) and severe major depression since I was around 9. I'm 21 now

I have no frame of reference for what these conditions even mean since I do not know what normalcy is.

what is it like to feel normal and without these conditions? what's different from day-to-day, especially internally.

I have a hard time grasping at what my goals are as a person to get out of the misery, since it's all I know.

You wake up and might be tired, but feel good and like yourself.
You don't really think much, maybe never think about, about what other people might be thinking or saying about you.
You honestly enjoy talking to at least many people.
When you make plans you do not dwell on worst case scenarios, doom, or catastrophe.
When you make a mistake you simply do your best to correct it, maybe even ignore it, and move on with no feelings of shame, insecurity, or doom.
Wen something stymies you, interrupts you, or you have to change plans last minute there is no fury, despair, or fear - you might not even be upset in any way at all!
You never burst into tears unless something incredibly bad, like a parent dying, has happened. If you do cry, you don't have to figure out why you are crying.
You have forgotten the embarrassing mistakes, verbal flubs, or clumsy things you did before last week. All of them.
You don't replay interactions over and over in your head worried about if you fucked up or imagining what you could have done or said 'better'.
You are never just afraid or anxious or scared out of the blue for no reason, or in a way where you need to figure out why.
You legit like yourself.

i just can't believe half of this, honestly. I dont believe that people walk around feeling good, don't have trouble when their plans are forced to change, or don't dwell over mistakes.

I also just do not believe at all that people don't need to figure out why they feel a certain way (anxious or why they're crying). like how are you supposed to know if you don't have to think and ponder why, and pay attention to your body.

are you normal anon? are you talking from experience or just assuming things?

nah, you know better, you just pick and choose when your """trauma""" causes you to not understand basic concepts, whenever it's most convenient for you to act confused or distant with one person but not the next
