I watched a lot of American cartoons and tv shows growing up, and it made the whole summer camp thing look like some magical, fundamental part of being a kid in the USA.
I wonder if anyone here met lifelong friends or fooled around with girls at their summer camp experience.
Though, its probably unlikely.

id say its pretty fundamental. we had to go to camp in 5th grade, and i have fond memories there, mostly because i got to square dance with some girls i liked in my class.
i was a boy scout, and this was when the started letting in girls. i had a friend meet his current girlfriend there about 3 years ago, but i never really talked to girls since i did the stereotypical "man" activities (shotgun and rifle, fishing, chess, metal working)
