>>81789533 (OP)"Love" is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage.

>>81789568Why do you think the mental gymnastics are necessary? Do you think prehistoric people had a concept of love or was it created in recent times?

>>81789533 (OP)i don't know what love is i hope you can show me
>>81789573>Why do you think the mental gymnastics are necessary?People hate to admit that they are lead by basic, animalistic desires.
That's also why every fat person seems to think they got gland/hormonal issues, and it's totally not because they can't control themselves around tasty food.
How can we define love? The Moment we do, that Is not love.
So you can not approach It by definitions and concepts, but only by discarding everything.

>>81789716By that definition almost all relationships are not real love. How many people would sacrifice their life for their partner when it comes down to it?
>>81789533 (OP)Love is just a cope. It was created by celibate monks.

>>81789784>It was created by celibate monksCan you expand on this? I never knew that.
>>81789799Courtly love was a cultural invention of the 12th century. A monk called Andreas Capellanus wrote a guide called De Amore on how love should be pursued.
>"De amore describes the affection between spouses as an unrelated emotion, stating that "love can have no place between husband and wife," although they may feel even "immoderate affection" for one another. Rather, the most ennobling love is generally secret and extremely difficult to obtain, serving as a means for inspiring men to great deeds."

The Greeks were correct to make distinctions between loves different forms. Most nowadays are only capable of romantic love, Eros, but fraternal love, Philia, is just as important for wellbeing.
To me, love is indescribable and ephemeral - it is the pain one endures when watching her walk away for the final time, the ravenous hunger one feels when her body is close to yours. The malaise that hangs over you when she is out of reach, or does not care. I cannot describe it, but I know when I feel it.
>>81789533 (OP)Love for men: an everlasting bond between two people where they support each other, care about each other, make sacrifices for each other, it's beyond the physical
Love for women: when a hot and tall guy rapes them
>>81789995What is wrong with people like you who take something as basic as caring about someone and make it about desperation
Go fucking hang yourself
>>81789995True to all, but what is the root of these feelings? Why do I not feel loneliness when a stranger or an acquaintance walks away? Why do I not feel lust when a woman at a bar is trying it on with me, and I am not interested? These feelings can only come about as a consequence of love
Love is a magic
A simple fantasy
