>be me
>born into poverty in rural West Virginia
>shift between being taken care of by uncles, grandmother, great aunts, ect.
>biological parents have no interest in raising a child
>begin working full-time hours as soon as I'm legally able to
>graduate high school, immediately enroll in community college
>scrimp and save, pool as together 20k
>use it on a down payment on a house at age 22
>move in day, see pic related
>dead cockroach in a vent
>dipshit college student, just let it go
>years pass, I graduate and find success in my field
>live an undisciplined and frat boy lifestyle due to living alone, house is a mess
>dirty clothes everywhere, trash cans frequently unchanged
>finally decided today's the day I turn it all around
>plowing through my to do list
>dishes maintained, laundry managed, trash removed
>have had a broken computer desk I've just been "dealing with" since college
>order a new one that's getting delivered today
>finally remove the dead fucking cockroach after 5 years
It's done. I'm free. I am no longer associated with the college version of myself.
I am an adult man and I'm going to begin acting like it.
