the bigger problem is that the concept of "LGBT" assumes two contradictory premises:
1. People with sexual orientation and gender identities which deviate from the norm are mistreated.
2. All sexual orientations and gender identities are perfectly normal and nobody should be mistreated based on these things.
They have confused signs for reality, so now they are stuck with one of two fates, either the point of their collective identity dissolves as soon as people stop mistreating them or caring about their orientation, or they create a bigger reason for everyone else to hate them and mistreat them by doubling down on the antagonistic part of their identity, thereby diving further into the direction of "we are not normal".
If they were just proud of being abnormal in their own way and proved to be functional members of society otherwise, that would have been fine. Instead they created a fucking coalition defined by social upheaval and protest based on how they like to have sex.
