do you ever feel guilty when you're having a good time? like a "i don't deserve this" kind of feel?
that's how i'm feeling all the time.

i have an abstractly similar feel that i don't deserve nice things. when i see or hear about someone else essentially treating themselves i feel like i don't deserve that and it's not for me.

No not really. I dont have alot of enjoyment in my life these days, but when I do, it feels earned, like sitting on my porch on a warm summers day, beer in hand, some good music on my speakers, just enjoying the moment. The small things in life.

My guess as an armchair psychologist is that it comes from one of two things
1. Upbringing.
2 Guilt.

Either your parents were some tryhard shits that made life out to be nothing but work and the pursuit of monetary and social status. Or you did something in your past that you feel guilty about that is unresolved.

>yeah, i did something in the past that i feel guilty about.
Is this something that comes to mind whenever you're having a good time or is idle? Then it's probably the root cause because you feel like you dont deserve having a good time.

I'm not going to ask what it is, if you stole a cookie from a cookie jar as a kid, you hit a dog while driving or you was in some african nation 4 years ago as a mercenary and genocided a village. The question I'd ask you is.

Can you do anything about it and can you correct it?
Is it something that can be forgiven then maybe you should ask for forgiveness?
If neither, seek redemption in religion or find a shrink.

>Can you do anything about it and can you correct it?
i don't believe so, i could apologize but someone mocked the idea of me apologizing and made me realize that i can't just apologize, it might just ad insult to injury.
>Is it something that can be forgiven then maybe you should ask for forgiveness?
i think the person forgives me maybe, but directly apologizing could be seen as insulting so i don't know what to do.
>If neither, seek redemption in religion or find a shrink.
therapy won't help, i've been to therapy before i couldn't bring myself to tell the shrink what happened and religion is scary.

Wouldn't say guilty, it's more of a foreboding feeling. A "Well, this is nice, too bad it's all going to be miserable again pretty soon"

Usually if I find myself actually enjoying life then it's a sign that something bad is about to happen. I think one of my ancestors pissed off a gypsy sorcerer or something.
