Honestly, never a dull moment. Women live for fucking drama. No matter how well their lives are going, they will find a reason to bitch, gossip, and create problems. Which I find entertaining. Beats hanging around with happy guys who either brag, have nothing to talk about, or try to help you like you're a project to be worked on. Not that I don't appreciate the sentiment of the last one, but I just want to fucking chill when I'm with friends.

One of my best friends is a woman. We have been friends for close to 20 years now (we're 30something boomers). We have never dated or hooked up. We had a discussion about potentially dating once. We both decided we are much better off as friends and wouldn't work as lovers. Anyways, it's nice doing/learning about stuff I wouldn't normally be exposed to with my guy friends. I also like getting a woman's perspective when I need advice. She has given me some really good advice, both for dating and for other situations. I've done the same for her too.

She is very generous and has never once made me feel used or exploited. She insists on paying most of the time when we do things and go places, even if it was my idea. Any time I have needed her help or someone to talk to she drops everything to be there for me. We are on each other's phone as emergency contacts. If I ever get married (>implying I even have a gf) I'd ask her to be a groomsman.

Not really, besides she is understandably busier and has less free time when she has a bf. But she doesn't completely disappear and cut me out of her life. She still makes time for me when she is in a relationship. When she starts talking to a new guy she is always upfront with the fact she has a very close guy friend and if he (the new guy) is insecure about that and makes an ultimatum he'll lose.

I do something similar when I'm seeing someone. Most girls are cool with it after meeting my friend and realizing there isn't any sexual tension between us. They generally like that you're able to see women as more than just sex objects. One ex asked for a few random phone checks to see if I had any nudes of her and make sure nothing was going on. One nutjob FWB lost her damn mind about me having a female friend. Full on banshee screaming accusing me of fucking my friend behind her back and demanding to know if she or my friend was better at sucking my dick and which one of them had better tits.

They are typically nicer and more expressive, so they it can be cool if you're into that kind of thing. Honestly I've found women get boring pretty quick since so many of them are either desperately inoffensive of sjw types. Honestly I've always favored the tomboy, openly degenerate, and loud/chill types but they always seem to get run out of any places I join pretty quick (either by haters or creeps). I'll say that women are typically more likely to invite you to do things with them and that can be nice since nobody ever seems to want to do things.

they are better at being nice in the moment, but it's been out of politeness and social acceptability rather than care in my experience. if you can get over that and accept that she's both not attracted to you and is actively pursuing the people she's actually attracted to, go for it. it builds perspective if nothing else.
