Boss would be inconvenienced but not care. Family the same. Others would laugh at me or get angry at me for it, but ultimately not care as they ditched me which is a big catalyst why I feel this way.

>we live in a society
People have been saying this for 15 years, and to this day it drives me mad because I never understand what the fuck they're trying to say. There's no context.

It means that there is a society and we live in it.

It means that having to deal with non-personal irrationality is to be expected because society is inherently messy.
I might be the first person to explain this this way.

it's the prefix to saying something, but then not saying it
>we live in a society [where a rich man trashes his sundae but a poor man can't buy a banana] or something like that
so you make fun of the concept, or make a sort of ironic/post-ironic comment, by saying "we live in a society" which is a tautology
it's associated with the joker from the dark knight, because he sermonized about the morality of society a lot

this is a fun thought experiment so i wrote out how id think theyd react at a funeral:
>Mom (crying loudly): "I should've known_ I should've seen something. I kept thinking_ maybe they were getting better."
>Dad: "We did what we could. Some things_ some things aren't ours to fix."
>Sister C: "I always thought they'd outgrow it. The whole_ morbid streak, the isolation. I didn't think it'd end up like this. I didn't think they'd actually go through with it. Oh gosh."
>Sister A: "Honestly? I'm not... I'm not surprised. They always seemed miserable. It's sad, but it's done. Nothing to do now."
>Sister B: *hysteric sobbing*
>Sister C: "I didn't think they'd really leave. Even if they were sad, we were still family. I thought that meant something."
>Cousin A: "Did you see this coming? I didn't see this coming."
>Cousin B: "I figured they'd do something like this eventually, yeah."
>Dog: Woof, bark, woof...

Mom: probably irreversibly sad and destroyed, don't think she would ever recover but she continue on

Dad: same thing, but he has bad health problems, i'm pretty sure he would die 10-20 years earlier out of regret

Brother: would be sad but probably would get over it in 5 years since we aren't that close nor interact anymore

Nobody else would be sad, since i don't really have any extended relatives in the country. I could die and my grandparents, uncles, and cousins might never know.

Why the fuck would your boss care? Unless you're close friends he'll just be bummed out he has to look for a new guy and train him.
