Do robots like Maggie Rogers?

For those unaware, she blew up after Pharrell lost his mind over her Alaska demo, although if you ask me, Heard It in a Past Life is not quite for me. I'm more into Rock and Folk than Pop. For me, it's her 2022 album Surrender. This one has folky roots smashed with huge pop-electro drops and raw Alt Rock feels. There really isn't a single dud on this album, but these grabbed me the most:

The production is quite good in want want
her voice is good and interesting in pitch and formants by itself but the way she uses it is kinda performative and I am one to prefer authenticity (it's a matter of the emotion that's displayed and it rarely works to use a common singing trope)
But if she works on her authenticity she is sure to not be popular so...

she quite looks like a girl that rejected me so I probably won't dive more into her work

Funny because I think she's quite real especially in comparison with so many other Pop stars. It feels lived in and not performed.

Looking at that picture made me think she was a star from the 90s, but then looking at her dress closer made me realise she's a current era slut. Why do people have to be like this now?

Idk I don't listen to the lyrics I am sensitive to the singing emotion sure it doesn't have to be completely disjointed from the culture of pop singing, because that's the cultural context we have to play with, but somehow the way she articulates the units of quirks that pop singing has sounds not all genuine, I wish I had a counterexample on the top of my head to make this more than a stupid comment
And I don't want to compare with singers of old.
But at a certain level of any craft there is a way to play with things that transpires life experienced as a person, and not just a rule following attitude
