I remember going into the sauna as a kid with my swimsuit on and an old lady screaming "you're not allowed to have swimsuits on here" at me

German saunas are more interesting I imagine since they still enforce complete nakedness in public saunas. In nordics you should wear swimwear or body towel

Only weirdos use sauna with clothes on. That's true in Finland, Norway and Japan, the three countries I've done sauna in.
