Just get yourself a better bride. I don't mix my ex at all, for while she took 20 B-B-Cs a week, the ol' ball n' chain takes as much as 50-80! Neither let me penetrate though

Then why did you use "they" in your first sentence? It could only be "her" by process of elimination.
Some things did annoy me but what made my life hell were just the circumstances. I couldn't be a good boyfriend even though she loved me and tried her best to make me happy. She was always rooting for me in every endeavour even though I was cold, withdrawn and dismissive. It makes me think I'm fundamentally incapable of being a good partner and any affection or love is completely wasted on me. I wasted almost a decade of her life and most of her youth and nothing can make up for that because the wheels of time only turn in one direction.
