Well women have a sort of charisma buff so to speak they occasionally can be found finding useful I suppose. Maybe it feels good for reasons that could potentially be related, or maybe not.

There are individual reasons for doing specific things so asking why this is more common could be difficult to defined to a certainty. I could give more reasons that could be plausible for any of the many people wearing these bike shorts.

I'm not sure I could qualify things like why flat tops were associated as popular among korean war veterans for example. You can only speculate, and on this specific forum we're on, maybe what I'm trying to say is that this thread could be seen as a bait-brainstorm combination.

I think it depends. There are scenarios where I can just be straight up shirtless as a man, like e.g. at the beach, while woman would have to cover her breasts. But I'll look like a fag if I war skin-tight clothes to the grocery store, while it's fine for a woman. It's all very relative.
