This is very inaccurate. I can tell you with 100% confidence and certainty that he did it because he was annoyed that the rest of the party was not listening to his calls or respecting him as a leader, and wanted to punish them by making sure they died and he survived. This is an extremely common behavior in toxic games and he somehow managed to bring that mentality to a super simple game like WoW, he wanted to prove that if they don't listen to them, he will die, and he tried his best to make that happen. Never mind the fact that if he had actually tried one iota and just played the game, he would have saved them all easily and they could just continue as normal. After failing to do so and getting away with it, he literally had to waste his mana on useless spells to have a "good" reason for his abandoning them, even tabbing out to play ads on his stream to cover his footage (most people have adblocker duh retard). the goal is to keep the game playable. as for how it's going to be implemented, not my problem, it's the publishers' problem. the less remote bullshit you add to begin with, to make your game unplayable down the line, the easier it'll be to implement an EOL plan. for all we know, getting a game like The Crew to work without the server may even be a case of changing a single fucking config flag. the problem is that the industry is trying to make it sound like playing games without remote support is fucking impossible, so it's not in their benefit to reveal just how easy the actual fix might be.
