Years ago, especially back in more restrictive times, sex was treated as a taboo affair. Where even seeing someone in short sleeves and shorts was seen as "indecent." But they still did have sex.
Now-a-days it's almost the opposite. sex is everywhere and expected. ads have it. T.V. shows have it. Games have it.
I think that since the past liked to cover up and pretend that sex didn't exist that we think of those times as being more prudish and reserved. But they also didn't have the internet to bombard themselves with sex at every waking moment. Nor did they keep records of all the sexual shit they did. They were sexual but probably not as much as we are now.
But it would be amazing to go back in time to Victorian era London and see how different their views were on sexual intercourse.
