The right wing in America completely won the cultural war just by being ahead of the times. Previously, they were completely locked out of the main stream media. Now they own the internet and the mainstream media is in tatters.
The right was never locked out, but I guess the underdog narrative worked.
>>81885161 (OP)The mainstream media is in tatters because of late stage capitalism fuckery, not culture wars
>>81885176>The right was never locked outbut they were. You could see that with Tucker Carlson. He actually started being right wing for once and he got cancelled for his trouble.
>>81885182Yep, a lot of shows make fuck all money now because advertising just doesn't pay anymore. Instead, you get your money from rich elites who have an agenda to push, and guess what agenda people who don't like paying taxes have.
>>81885207>because advertising just doesn't pay anymoreMaybe the left should've never weaponized advertisement.
>>81885229Advertisements have been information weapons since their inception. It's not political. Advertisements aren't paying as well because people don't want to spend 1/3rd of their entertainment time being attacked with garbage info and are choosing as such.
>>81885283He means whether you get access to them or not, it was used as a weapon to try to choke out badthinkers ability to earn a living.
>>81885330Advertisers pulling out of Twitter wasn't a punishment per se, they just didn't want baby wipe ads next to posts that say shit like "KILL ALL JEWS"
>>81885506They seemingly had no issue with "kill all white people" however
>>81885161 (OP)I'm sure that's the reason and not because no one watches late night talk shows anymore.
>>81885194t. doesn't even know who Glenn Beck is
>>81885622This, it's an obsolete medium as nobody under 40 watches late night, has nothing to do with late stage capitalism as jobs have been phased out for centuries as new things come along.
>>81885597There are things more important than making people laugh
The culture war is just winding down and ending. Neither side won it. Kanye is now humiliated on every level after siding with Trump and then later the Groypers. The Daily Wire is in severe financial termoil and they let go of a shit ton of hosts. Even Trump himself, the central axis of the whole thing is looking pretty bleak.
We are entering an era of just extreme nonpartisan hopelessness. We have already been here for years now but people at least used electoralism as a means to express their cynicism and nihilism but now the realization that even thats futile is starting to permiate.
>>81885699I think the left lacks male role models
Like Justin Trudeau represents the current year, and he got divorced and cucked. Nobody wants to grow up to admonish people for saying mankind and not peoplekind
>>81886796That's because leftism is female-coded and rightism is male-coded.
When your ideology is fundamentally feminine you're never going to have good male role models.
>>81887027Its so funny that the deeper a man is in the left, more likely he is to be feminine and less straight coded, quite an interesting metric
colbert going down is for financial reasons not political, but it is the canary in the coal mine. Who knows how much longer the other late night guys have.
I can picture a future without late night talk shows just like there isnt saturday morning cartoons anymore.
other things going down
movie theaters
MTV
cable
24 hour news
young people dont watch these things anymore, got replaced by podcasts, tik tok, streaming, doom scrolling

Colbert had more numbers than the other late night shows.
It's just a dead medium. Previously they could pull numbers because it was the only way the general public could gain insight into the life of a celebrity (outside tabloid mags).
Social media gives you a parasocial relationship with celebs at every level. A constant drip feed directly into your brain. It made late night obsolete.
>>81887151>Colbert had more numbers than the other late night shows.numbers dont matter, demographics do, no one in the 18-25 demographic was watching that shit, its nothing but 70 year old boomers
>>81887191I don't think young people are watching late night at all, for the reasons I listed.
I do think its funny how liberals spent 60 years slowly taking control of academia and the media and it all came crashing down cause there are no to little gatekeepers to the internet and all rightwingers had to do was start a podcast.
>>81887216Society has been disintegrating for my entire lifetime. Lib types just didn't see it coming because they were largely insulated in their ivory towers.
>>81887289>Lib types just didn't see it coming because they were largely insulated in their ivory towers.yes well, and they also were the ones orchestrating the downfall of society
