How can you afford to not work for 3 months? I highly doubt you are not working somewhere else

most staff who don't work year round can opt to stretch their pay over 12 months instead (but that means less money per check)

I'm 27 and I found out last year I made $64,000+ dollars after taxes just working as a teacher.
I'm not even in a blue state, I'm in Arizona.
Basically during the school year I have the District shave a little off the top of each check, and when June hits I get $10,000 to last me until we're back late August.

because i am something of a violent man and if some fourteen year old decided to talk back to me in the middle of a shit day I can 100% see myself going directly to jail as a consequence of my actions

Because it's a female-dominated field and I live in a blue state so I'll probably get metoo'd by staff or students. There's already precedent for it. Plus I would have to figure out ways to get students not to use AI to cheat.
I would also have to pick up another job because the benefits for being a teacher suck ass here.

Nah not work 3 months off. I would rather teach at college.

I'm a Special Education Teacher
I had a weekend job for about two years where I was a weekend bookkeeper at a local grocery store
I liked it a lot, paid only about 3k after taxes though, was just nice fun money, but never having a day off was beginning to wear on my sanity a little
Somehow I convinced people into electing me union president which will net me an additional $10,000 (assuming the new Executive Board votes for it)
I will now work only from 8 AM to 12 PM every morning and be released from my campus to do "presidential duties"
It's a sweet life. Even when working my regular day I love the job so much it doesn't feel like work.
