I wouldn't mind boring, but what I've found is almost all of them will either stop talking to you right away with you don't come up with some way to make them interested in you (after which point you'll never hear from them again) or else if you do the opposite and try to be engaging up front you risk scaring them off and unfriending you. And then even if you avoid being too boring or too forward there's a good chance they'll bounce regardless for reasons that have nothing to do with you, like they have an anxiety problem and realized they can't handle talking to people.
