Where did you buy it? I raised my own ducks and still have like 20 but I am getting out of the duck game and want to buy it from a store.

I just ordered it from a Chinese place. I haven't tried cooking it myself. It seems like a superior version of chicken though.

It is a superior version of chicken. I have raised every breed of heritage duck and they all have a slightly different flavor. Cayuga, Rouen, Swedish, saxony, welsh harlequin, and even runner ducks, I have had them all. The cool part about butchering them yourself is that you can also eat the heart and liver as an appetizer. But no women want to live on my land so I have to close down my duck operation and find a Chinese place to order from.

It's cool that you tried the animal husbandry thing though. I'm sure that could end up being useful during an apocalypse. Can you redpill me on mallard ducks? It's the only kind of wild duck I recognize.

I think chicken and duck have quite different flavours. Whereas, duck and goose have a more similar flavour profile, with goose being superior.
>heart and liver
Good tastes.

Yeah due to autism I evaluated 1000 properties and found an ideal self sufficient duck property. The key element is to have a spring fed pond because the constant inflow of fresh water allows you to sustain a lot more ducks without the water getting ruined. I do not even have to cage my ducks, they just sleep on the pond which keeps them safe from predators. Ducks can see about 10x better in low light conditions than humans can so all they need is a light and a pond to avoid predators. I also integrated 2 guard geese into the flock because geese have better daytime vision and can see airborne predators like hawks. Ducks are able to turn half of their brain off to sleep. This allows them to close one eye while keeping the other eye and brain half activated to look for predators. They will often sleep in a circle with the outside facing eye open to search for predators while the eye facing the inside of the circle sleeps. Ducks can also comfortably live outside at zero degrees and above so as long as you are in USDA climate zone 7 or better it is possible to engineer a fully outdoor environment for them. Mallards are a standard duck and the Rouen duck is its domesticated equivalent. Rouens are 2-3x larger than Mallards despite having an identical visual appearance. Rouens have the worst feed conversion ratio of any breed of duck, typically needing 5 pounds of food for every 1 pound of body weight gain. The most efficient feed conversion ratio duck is the Pekin at around 1.5 pounds per pound gained which is why 90%+ of ducks raised for slaughter are Pekin ducks.
