If there's a slip when circumcision is done with a knife, sure. But the way I had the procedure done on my son had no real risk of that.

I consider it a part of the freedom of the practice of religion.
That said, I have heard some good arguments that circumcision has become extreme over the years and that it used to simply be a removal of the very tip of the hood. If this is substantiated I would be all for changing the procedure itself to be altered to remove less skin.
