why are there so many names for the same thing..?
>"erm ackshually if u read the DSM it clearly states--"
these are all misdiagnosed as one another so incredibly often it's obvious even shrinks don't understand the fucking differences, what few there are

Everything is a symptom of PTSD but we don't talk about that because it would ruin the lie of the family system

more like it would requires actual accountability and maturity in narcissists who only ever fucking have kids because they're grasping at immortality without even once actually trying to comprehend the weight of the consequences of their selfish actions

good and supportive families definitely exist, I've fucking seen them

Familiarity bias. You see what you're trained to see, everything else blends in.
Same as when you get a red car and suddenly notice how many other red cars there were everywhere and wonder how you could be so oblivious to it for so long

BPD and C-PTSD have a lot of overlap but don't overlap 100%
Autistic people generally have ADHD, but ADHD people don't generally have autism
Anxiety is separate from all of these though C-PTSD will almost always have an anxiety component
Depression is separate as well but is generally co-morbid with any other mental illness.

I don't see how any of these are going to get misdiagnosed as the other. C-PTSD isn't even something that gets diagnosed in the US as far as I know. In any case, these aren't diseases where you can point to an underlying virus. They're collections of symptoms that can have differing root causes. That's why e.g., BPD and C-PTSD might be describing the same disorder at times despite not being the same label. We're not at the point that we can survey the entire brain and pinpoint the specific dysfunctions.

No it's just likely that if you have one you have some of the others.

BPD is a personality disorder, ADHD and autism are neurological developmental disabilities, and PTSD is a mental health disorder caused by trauma. The only overlap in these is that both BPD and PTSD are caused by trauma, although their defense mechanisms are inherently different in nature. Why do you think they should be grouped together? Seems extremely arbitrary

C-PTSD isn't the same as PTSD and there's debate around whether C-PTSD is a useful diagnostic label given that it's so similar to BPD.

seems to be some overlap due to how most of this can be chalked up as poorly socialized as a kid.
except for short term depression, has the exact same symptoms and stress and the treatment is literally stress management or throwing pills until they go away.
long term and ''treatment resistant'' depression on the other hand, yeah thats basically shit childhood. its always the childhood.

In reality, what we call BPD (or any mental disorder) is not a singular disorder like how a virus is a singular disease. Mental disorders are caused by problems in the brain's processing stacks, learning the wrong things, etc. So, BPD is just a label that fits a wide range of individual disorders. It's better to think of the names of mental disorders as category labels, so you have a disorder in the category of BPD (or potentially C-PTSD).
If you feel better thinking of yourself as having C-PTSD then you can just go with that, the clinical difference isn't huge as far as I know.

like how schizoid for guys is mostly a sour grapes cope and 9/10 times it means women in their family were unhinged and the men were broken/didn't give a shit.

Not really? Personality disorders especially are stable symptom sets that don't get better over time. Schizoid comes with opioid system issues, I don't remember the specifics but I think k-opioid receptor dysfunction stemming from infant neglect was one of the hypothesized causes. It would be strange if it was just cope given how extreme the disorder is, schizoid is over-represented in the homeless population for example.
Just because the disorders are more like category labels doesn't make them less real.

I'd say not all the PDs are made equal. Eg. Schizoid and Narcissist for example involve extreme changes in thinking relative to the expected norm, while BPD is basically just "unregulated woman behaviour".

if a guy filmed his toddler daugher in the shower while she was crying and trying to cover her self and shut the doors people would consider him a pedo but when women do it its normal family videos and i'm ''overreacting'' for wanting the tapes burned.
