forgive the ramblings of someone perhaps a bit too far gone

but in the age where women and "those individuals" in power are taking away the creative freedoms, liberties and outlets men once had to cope along their dwindling lives I have to ask:

what does it mean, to create something- or better to create something you would personally see with value?

I ask because I want to write. I want to create something, for fun. Not for profit, not for the general public to see and mock- I'm starting off with writing, then hopefully branch out into other forms of art. But I always seem to ask myself WHY I try or continue trying if it won't ever reach anyone. Not even a small, or even miniscule group that "understands" or even shows the smallest amount of interest.

I want to create something to reflects me as man. That reflects me as a person. But I'm scared it'll be snuffed out in this sea of evil. It's horrifying.

create for the pleasure of creation, an end in itself. additionally, create to cement your name in eternity like achilles. the latter isn't something i cared about until recently (32) but once it clicks it hits fairly hard

I've been thinking a bit about it too as of late, but that's mostly because I feel as if my life is slowly careening off the rails mentally, that I needed something to genuinely ground me as horrible things keep happening in the world.
