It's 70% of the story. The time travel shit is a secondary point. Especially the "lady in the chair" which we find out in the second book is Kazu's mom. I'm now on the third book, and it's adorable how Sachi keeps up with the theme of the book of 100 questions. There is nothing wrong with drama.

The main flaw of the series is how the rules are so arbitrary that it sometimes changes. They seemed to finally make the rules concrete by the third novel, but I'm expecting them to pull a bullshit new rule.

The only exception right now is the series I mentioned to the other anon since I want to complete it before moving on. Like the last books prior to this were The Park is Mine and I reread Flowers for Algernon and Lord of the Flies.
