Why don't you accept the perfect sinless sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross to pay for all of your sins without having to do any good works? Heaven is literally a free gift and you just have to believe in him to save you

I want to believe, but I also can't believe God would involve so much suffering. Or if I counter that and say I can believe God can create such ceaseless suffering, and turn my back on such a God, I would rather worship another idol like death, which at least brings peace

Because sins destroys the world. When Jesus comes back, He will bring the father's kingdom to earth and resurrect all of us with perfect sinless body & mind just like him so we can never do evil ever again. Only perfect love towards one another.

Without sin, you wouldn't understand God's perfection, wrath, mercy, and justice.

This whole thing is to glorify him, and make himself know how evil and wicked humans are.

Why would God tempt us with sin in the first place? It's like giving a toddler a gun. I don't believe in a god so irresponsible, nor do I trust him to come back and save me from my mistakes. Clearly he is not perfect, or else he wouldn't have let us commit sin. Regardless, I don't even believe in sin in the first place, just cruelty and malice
