Eugenics is not about survival, so your argument is already completely void.
>betterment Who determines what is desired? Us, humans. There is no way im which we can make an objective decision of what is a "positive" trait. It will always be arbitrary.
Nature does not select willingly, it is context dependent, and what is desired is everchanging.
Also the value of the individual over the group. Self-sacrifice is moral only when it is a voluntary choice, that requires placing the individual's ability to choose first and foremost. Otherwise it's just murder.
