Do you sometimes get intrusive thoughts like that someone is gonna break into your house at night and kill your whole family? I can have a perfectly good day and then I'll go home when I commute back from college and think "what if" I find my whole family lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood. I get kinda panicky when that happens. Otherwise my mind is really sound and calm I wouldn't consider myself mentally ill but these things really bug me. Anyone else with similar patterns?

Worrying about someone digging them back up from under the floorboards is quite normal to be honest.

No violent/threatening thoughts like that, but the recurring thoughts about times I behaved in stupid, evil or cringe ways have been getting more intrusive over the years. Two or three years ago the thoughts would get so bad that I started physically jolting and vocally reacting whenever they occurred, but after I remind myself that it's okay to recognize but let these thoughts pass, it's usually fine.
I also think daily smoking of cannabis for an extended time (about two years consistently) has definitely exacerbated neurotic thoughts and behaviors that I've always dealt with.

I feel like if the neuroticism got way worse I could potentially go into psychosis or schizophrenia, but so far I've been stable enough mostly.

you don't have any enemies anon, those thoughts are completely baseless and irrational. criminals don't break into houses anymore, it's rare as fuck, murderers don't kill whole families of random people that's even more rare.

what spooks me is when someone in my family is driving i get this paranoia that maybe they'll get into an accident and not even a deadly one but a small one that will cause financial annoyance and inconvenience.

I actually have enemies, but i don't really fear that they'll kill my family that would be retarded, they're not random black kids from the hood so they wouldn't just kill a whole family and then go to jail for life.

you gotta think rationally, you don't have enemies man, you should save your worries for inconveniences.

look up the collins family in texas, for example. a convict escaped from prison transport and killed 5 members of a family; the grandfather, his 3 grandspns and their cousins.
the driver of the prison bus was retarded, the designers/maintenece workers on the bus were retarded, the prison system was retarded for not having more gaurds, the other inmates in the bus were retarded for helping him escape, the comunnity was retarded for not being alert, and the grandfather was retarded for not being alert

This sounds like ocd, if you can i would recommend getting some sort of test done. I have ocd and have had similar thoughts before

I also think the same thing when I get home after work sometimes. "What if I open this door and go upstairs, only to smell blood and find the dead bodies of my family?" it's a bit worrying but when I see they're fine I stop worrying about it until it happens again. Same thing also happens when I'm at work too sometimes. "What if a customer gets mad at me for some reason and leaves the store then comes back and blows my brains out with a gun" It's crazy stuff man.
