As a woman, I can say that men are women are equally picky, but women just get called out for it more when we are.
I personally wouldn't call myself picky, but nowadays a lot of men *are* ugly. They dont know how to dress, dont tend to their bodies either because they're either basement dwellers or try to appeal to the "female gaze" dad bod, and model their entire look and personality off of whatever man the women around them call hot instead of trying to be their own person to when one guy is ugly and becomes famous and sought after, suddenly every man around me is also ugly
And the ones that don't are ugly because they're one of those dudes that don't wash their asses, which is surprisingly common.

The thing is this describes a lot of women as well. Women are now more obese than ever but it hasn't made it harder for them at all. In fact it's easier than ever for women because of dating apps. Social media also proves that men have much more diverse standards. Men have different niches for example some men like flat chested women, some men like straight up obese women and some men like very tall women but we don't see the same leeway fir women. We know thar women aren't attracted to fat men. We know that women aren't attracted to short men. It's simply disingenuous and wrong to say that men and women are just as picky because they aren't.
