I feel like you're not allowed to make mistakes in life. Not a single one without heavily negatively affecting it.

It depends on your level of purity. If you're a total ignorant, there will be plenty of room for mistakes until you get rid of your ignorance.

you mistakes happen, people just won't let you live it down. the thing you have to remember is that pretty much everyone on the internet is just a fake moral grandstanding sociopath that just wants to rip others down to cope with their own insecurity. They'll call you a monster well being far more monstruous than you and at the end of the day you can say you made a mistake but these losers do what they do deliberately.

You ever heard of pic related, anon?
Roberto Baggio - back in his day, he was known as "The Divine Ponytail", he was the best of the best, scored tons of goals, played for his country, etc.
but one fatal mistake costed him his career and he was then dubbed "The Man Who Died Standing"

What did he do? He missed a shot. That's it. Lots of folks before him missed shots, and lots more folks after him miss their shots, but his moment was immortalized.

What I'm trying to get at is that mistakes are inevitable - they'll cost you, they'll destroy you but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try, doesn't mean you shouldn't ever give it your best.

Just imagine, what if he succeeded? What happens then? Nothing. It'll be just another day. Another win. Now he has to do it all over again.

That's just how life goes, anon - you win some, you lose some. The banality of it is that if you win you have to do it again, and if you lose, well, as long as you're alive, you still have to do it again.
