When I went to high school, the white kids were doing fine academically but they were also involved in a lot of different other activites. Not to mention most of them were social butterflies with huge friend groups. Yeah, I think that is a better quality of life than being that weird Asian that you've never even heard speak. I remember graduating and our class valedictorian was some Asian kid. It was the first time I heard his voice. I remember people turning to each other and asking "who the hell is that?"

That's actually a myth, asians are no way near as discriminated against as non-jewish whites.

The reason it appears whites aren't discriminated against at the Ivy Leagues is because Jewish people are lumped in the white category. Remove jews and whites are severely discriminated against and are only like 10% of elite schools.

It's not academic achievement either, because jewish academic achievement has cratered since the 1970s. Episcopalian whites actually outperform jews academically now.

Back when everybody studied a normal amount and didn't sacrafice their life for school, all the high grade kids were guaranteed to be actually cognitively capable. Asians grindmaxxing their life away means some some shockingly mediocre Asian kids get through with good grades, and then just can't perform that well when it comes to the real world. Japan discovered this with women doctors who did tremendously well through medical school but fumbled when it came to actually being a doctor.

My fiance is Singaporean and school there sounds suicide-inducing. So does the parenting. People are extremely cold and status obsessed, it's... very uncomfortable as a white guy who grew up in an upper middle class family. My parents, despite being fairly wealthy, always told us to live beneath our means and that owning things doesn't make you a better person, but in Asia, maintaining face is extremely important.

My fiance tells me that sometimes she is tempted to buy an extremely expensive coffee machine or microwave or something. Not because we need one, or even want one, but so she can tell people she did and show off. That's such an insane way of thinking to me.
