kind of how insects can not form the same bonds mammals can. a pet insect would not be evil in showing a lack of interest in you.

OP has not told us for how long she has already ghosted him already, but writing a small message while pooping or whatever (we all always have our phone with us anyways) should not be asking for too much.
she is in college. she is not a surgeon always on call. she could make some time for him but won't.
